From a gift came an idea, and then a commitment. Sherpa's Pet Trading Company started when Gayle Martz was not able to find a pet carrier for her Lhasa Apso, Sherpa. She discovered that a stylish, functional, lightweight carrier didn't exist. Her goal was to then create a product and a procedure for people to travel comfortably with their small companions. So she then designed and photographed her product and Sherpa and she went to work. The inspiration had begun. Having over 20 years of experience working with airlines, she knew how unsettling it could be to have to travel with your precious pets and not have them by your side. She set out to change that.
Sherpa's crowning success is having the major airlines change their policy regarding pets in the cabin. The Sherpa Bag is now the officially approved soft-sided carrier for in-cabin use on the following airlines: Air Canada, Alaska, American, America West, Continental, Delta, Northwest, TWA, United and US Airways.
The Sherpa Bag is recommended for use by veterinarians, the ASPCA, the Delta Society, Humane Society, and many four-footed customers.

We bought 4 different airline approved carriers from a variety of compaies to see which one would work the best. We returned three and have used the Sherpa carrier. I loved it and our pug loved it. It was easy in and out for him and me. He could turn around inside the carrier. He could see out on all sides and top. I could easily get my hand into his space to comfort him and it was very easy to pull through the airport. And it fit under the airline seat on SW. Perfect for our Pug.

It is great when carting around a large cat (17 lbs). Only drawback was price. If you go to Doctors Foster and Smith it is much lower in price. I should have price compared before I bought.

My sedated 16-pound cat did great on a cross-country flight in this bag, which fits snuggly under the seat.
The ventilation flaps allowed him to easily see us, which helped calm him.
The one caution is to pull it carefully through the airport, as the smaller wheels can allow the bag to flip on a turn--especially when it's pulled by a preschooler!

i got this brand new for half price! the wheels are the best thing about it. can get through the airport lickity split. this is a really great product. don't think about traveling with your pet without one of these.

the carrier was much nicer than i expected. my dogs and cats like to get in it and sleep. the wheels make it easier carrying the heavier dog. the price was right and i would reccomend it.

This carrier was wonderful in bringing a puppy from New York to San Diego. The wheels made it a breeze to go through airports and still fit under the seat.

The convenience to pull the dog bag because of the wheels without any effort vice carry other dog bags over the shoulder.

Only real problem is that roll up clips are flimsy and look cheap.Needed a tool to get then to work correctly or I would have had to return the carrier if the sides could not be rolled up.
I use carrier in cars, on planes and hotel rooms.Ideal size and my 14 lb.Cairn is comfortable for reasonable periods of time.

I purchased this bag for my 2 little dogs to travel back and forth to Florida. My Minpin loves it so much even when we are not traveling she like to sleep in it. The fact that it is a roller bag makes getting around a piece of cake.
