About the Artist:
Born in Texas, raised in South America and later traveling and residing in various countries has enriched Caroline Ashton's development as an artist. Caroline (known as Cookie to many) began painting at an early age and over the years has studied and explored a variety of mediums including watercolors, acrylics, printmaking and ceramics. Painting in oil on large canvases, her current subject matter is figurative and the work is contemporary. Human figures and how they interact and relate to one another represent the content. Caroline is especially interested in engaging the viewer as a participant interpreting her paintings. By weaving faceless figures and bodies together in dynamic movements, costumes and settings, she expertly uses colors and shapes to work her magic.
