Comments about Midwest Guinea Habitat PLUS:
I recently bought this cage for my Guinea Pig, Emmett. He absolutely loves it! He popcorns around and sings like never before. It has more than enough room for him to be as silly as he chooses. The only thing I didn't like was that it doesn't have a solid bottom, so it is not able to be transported without being broken down. Also, cleaning is a bit time consuming, because the liner has to be taken out, which is a bit of a chore. But, for me, it's all worth it so see my Emmett happy.

Comments about Midwest Guinea Habitat PLUS:
This cage is perfect for guinea pigs. I love that the whole top can come off. It's easy to get the guinea pigs in and out. Since they can't climb or jump, I don't even use the top anymore. The cage is a great size for two pigs. They can actually run around the cage. The small area is their "kitchen" where I keep pellets, hay and their water bottle. The larger area is their "family room". Here they sleep and play. The ramp adds a little extra in the form of exercise. The cage is easy to clean with the top off. I just scoop out the bedding with a large dust pan and put in fresh bedding. The bottom of the cage is canvas and nothing sticks to it. Cleaning is a piece of cake. The cage is larger than it looks, measure to make sure it fits your space!

I have 1 male guinea pig that is housed in this cage. Since they don't necessiarly "go" in one spot it does make it harder to keep clean. The canvas is waterproof of course but in order to not have to scrub the bottom everyother day,i decided to put down newpaper and fleece on top to help pick up the mess on the larger side and put in the Aspen wood bedding on the other side. The bottom doesn't look new anymore but that doesn't affect the use of the cage. I love that the whole top removes for cleaning. Squeekers loves his house, and im happy knowing that he isn't in a cramped cage from the pet store.

We are using this cage as a back-up/addtl. space for our 2 piggies. It is not their main living space as it would be way too small for that. (Tip: We are using a very large hard plastic swimming pool as their main living space, that works great if you have lots of room in your house). If you must use this as a main cage, I strongly recommend using it with the expansion in order to give your little ones at least some room to run around. One thing to keep in mind when ordering this: The bottom is soft, so you need to have a hard surface to place this on. The cage is not very stable, it is rather floppy. I would not use this cage without bedding, we use towels+fleece as bedding, in the kitchen area we use care fresh bedding. Also we place a folded towel on the ramp as our guineas do not use it without that. It is easy to place water bottles, hayrack, etc. on the sides of this. Overall I think this is a good alternative to the regular store bought cages if you can't build one yourself. In that case two of these cages put together would make a good habitat for 2 guinea pigs. But please keep in mind that they still need lots of floor time to really run around and of course lots of love and responsible care.

Comments about Midwest Guinea Habitat PLUS:
This is the worst cage for a guinea pig to live in. It is too small for guinea pigs since they need to be kept in pairs. There is no where to put a water bottle that is low enough for the guineas to reach. I had to put a brick under the water bottle so the guinea pigs can reach it. The divder is usless since it leaves no room for them to move. The only plus to this cage is the top that can be removed. I wish I would have returned it when I got it but decided to try it out. It is not worth the money since it is not big enough.

My guinea pig loves this cage, he had a great time exploring all his new space! He is so happy that I cannot wait to get him a new pal to play with, and of course, when we do, we will order the Guinea Pig Habitat to expand their space.
