I tried to use a smaller litter pan in this but it didn't work out well and my cats made a mess inside with the litter. Instead of buying a special litter pan to fit in this product I just cut a large litter pan I was previously using that had a covered lid to fit the doorway of the pet house and this worked fine. I love how nice the outside appears so it can hide otherwise unattractive cat boxes. I have mine in my living room and I put plants on the top of it. I searched for this product online for some time before I purchased and this site offered the best deal.

I have two cats and I moved from a large house to a smaller apartment and decided to get this to cover their litter box (why would you use it as a night stand?lol!). The cats went in there right away-they love it! My old litter box fit in there perfectly. I got the the espresso color and it looks better quality than it really is (the top shelf wouldn't screw on all the way but you can't tell unless you try to lift it). Its very nice for the price!

This item would be ideal if it came with the litter pan inside. I found it difficult to find a pan that fits perfectly. As a result, my cats often soil just outside the box requiring me to line the crate with newspaper. Not an easy cleanup.

Like some of the other reviews mentioned, you'll want to air this baby outside for a couple of days to let the intense factory smell subside. The finish looks good, and it's allowed us to hide the ol' box. Our cats like to throw their sand all over the place, so we have a box with high edges. These edges partially obscure the entrance, so I wish the opening were just a tad bigger. Getting in there to sweep out stray sand is a bit of chore. But all in all, we've been quite happy with it.

This box looks great, but i can't use it to hold my litter box for a few reasons. Primarily, i can't find a litter box to fit tightly inside. Because the hole in the door is so close to the ground the only litter boxes that half way fit are too shallow for my cat. Try as he might he would pee outside the box every time because he didn't squat down low enough. I tried it for several weeks doing different things with training papers, etc but ended up giving up.
