This is a very nice pet home for cats if it is undercover, like a back porch. It is not weatherproofed. Wind and rain do pass through the wood slats. It is worth the price I paid for it. I used black roofing paper to line the inside to keep the wind and rain from penetrating the house. Add a rug and the cats love it.

While the value was good for the price, this just did not provide enough room for my pom-poo. The dog pictured actually looks bigger than my dog, but while my dog could walk in, he had difficulty turning around and so when I put a treat inside, he went in, got the treat and backed out. Also, the stairs are kind of a joke -- better suited to a parakeet! Probably a cat would like going up these stairs, but it is, after all, a dog house. I am putting it on craigslist to sell.

Adorable design and very good quality dog house - great for my small Havenese. Parts fit together well, wood is smooth, well constructed, and was easy to assemble. Floor is not permanently attached to base, but adding a few well placed screws or nails will take care of that. My dog doesn't care for the stairs, but has no problem jumping up on top.
