I have 3 placed in carpet areas they scratch at, and in corners in which they hide. Not even catnip entices them to use them, though I've shown them how. I've a scratching 'board that I use in show cages, qnd that works, but these great 'beds' have yet to attract them. Sorry.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

      Our older cat has been sharing his home with a new kitten, against his better judgement... This sofa bed (rubbed in catnip) is a daily ritual & treat for him. He comes in, claws it incessantly then lies across it like Cleopatra I will buy more of these!

      Of course, the kitten likes it too when she can get some sofa time from the big cat!
