Always go a little bigger – if the dog bed is too small, your dog won’t get a proper night’s sleep. Measure your dog in his normal sleeping position (start from the nose and measure to the back legs). Add 9 - 12” to give your dog plenty of room.
Bolster Beds
Safety and security! Many dogs do not like feeling exposed when they sleep, and a bolster bed’s walls offer a sense of protection against "intruders". If your dog curls up in the middle of your recliner, he’s craving a bolster.
Traditional Beds
If your dog is a "lounger" – that is, he sprawls on his back when sleeping – a traditional bed works best. It’s a soft, supportive cushion with room to stretch out. A classic dog bed.
Nesting Beds
A tiny bed for a tiny dog! Ideal for a small dog or cat, a nesting bed offers security your puppy can sink into for a toasty night’s sleep.
Mats & Pads
Simple and supportive, mats fit anywhere, travel well, and are easy to care for. If your dog switches positions, stretching and then curling up in his sleep, a mat is a smart choice.
Orthopedic Beds
Does your dog flop down on soft surfaces after playing? Some dogs crave extra support. Designed for aging or arthritic dogs, orthopedic beds have medical-grade foam for the ultimate in cushioning. Great for large dogs, too.
The biggest mistake you can make is in thinking there is not a bed out there to mach your home décor or personal style. Wrong – unsightly dog beds, the kind you had to hide from guests, are a thing of the past! Today, dog beds come in every color, pattern, and look: simple plaids, stripes, and florals, to elegant toile, designer and traditional prints; cotton, nylon, faux suede, and microvelvet fabrics; and virtually any color of the rainbow, from earth tones and pastels to wild neons and bold classics. You’ll find what you’re looking for!
